3. Do I need a switchboard upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always — about 50% of homes are fine.
We inspect your switchboard first to check capacity, load limits and safety compliance.
If your board is outdated, overloaded or has ceramic fuses, an upgrade may be required before installing the charger.

4. Can I install an EV charger myself?

No — EV chargers must be installed by a licensed electrician.
It is illegal and unsafe to install them yourself. Incorrect wiring can cause electrical fires, charger failure or void warranties. Only qualified electricians can certify the installation.

5. How long does an EV charger installation take?

Most installations take 2–4 hours, depending on distance, wiring complexity and switchboard condition.
